PCR/ HRM

We offer the best instruments available for high speed Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR).

The range of instruments which we offer in this application starts with a simple, capillary based system through to fully-automated real-time PCR systems with integrated High Resolution Melting (HRM).

The common feature to our PCR instruments is the ability to amplify samples at rates close to the kinetic limits of the reaction.  30 cycles can be  performed in as little as 10 minutes, and 32 samples with post-PCR High Resolution Melting in under 30 minutes on the new Light Scanner 32 system.

For larger numbers of samples, we offer standalone LightScanner High Resolution Melting systems in convenient and easy-to-use 96 well and 384 well microtitre plate formats. 

One instrument can handle the output of multiple microtitre plate PCR instruments, thus enabling true high throughput screening 13 ideally suited for large numbers of clinical samples (in population studies etc.) or in studies with very large cohorts, such as plant genetics studies.

Through the use of the novel fluorescent dyes which do not inhibit the PCR, wild-type samples can be sorted out and the amplified sample can be sequenced directly, as the dye does not interfere with this process.

The advantage is that larger numbers of samples can be screened quickly and efficiently, and tremendous cost-savings can be achieved by not having to needlessly sequence wild-type samples.
